We take accessibility seriously and strive to make the EuroBiReCon and EuroBiCon as inclusive as possible. Our efforts to make these events as accessible as we can are a work in progress, and so is this page. If you have any accessibility-related questions or suggestions, please send us an email. Suggestions on vision-related accessibility are especially welcome.

General
– Our goal is to create a quiet room, a smoke-free entrance and gender-neutral toilets at each venue.
– We will use colour communication badges so participants can easily indicate their desired level of interaction.
– We will have a Dutch (Nederlandse Gebaren Taal – NGT) sign language interpreter for some parts of the programme.
– Food-wise, we will have vegan options for the lunches. If you have any specific food needs, please send us an email so we can discuss the possibilities.
University of Amsterdam
– The entrances are accessible for wheelchairs.
More information will follow.
Lutheran Church
– The side entrance is accessible for wheelchairs.
More information will follow.
Community Center De Boomsspijker
We will have:
– a quiet room
– a smoke-free entrance
– gender-neutral toilets
Mobility access
– The main entrance is wheelchair accessible.
– The building has one rather small wheelchair accessible toilet on the ground floor. It has two grab bars and a small sink, the space between the sink and the toilet is about 80cm. There are no toilets with an elevated toilet seat.
– All floors are accessible by lift. The width of the lift is 90cm, the depth is 120cm.
– The doorways have a width of 90cm. Some doorways have thresholds of about 2cm or 3cm. We are looking into the possibility of arranging temporary ramps.
– One room is currently not accessible due to a set of stairs both sides of the entrance. We are working on getting a ramp for one of the sets of stairs, which would make the room accessible through the back entrance.
– The atelier might not be wheelchair accessible due to the high tables and cramped space.
Getting there
– As De Boomsspijker is located in the centre of Amsterdam, parking is difficult and using public transport is recommended.
– De Boomsspijker is about a 15 minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station.
– The closest metro stop is Nieuwmarkt. This stop is wheelchair accessible according to the GVB, the public transport company of Amsterdam.
– There are two blue badge parking spaces in front of the building. Both are small and narrow and next to a fence, we expect a car-wheelchair transfer would be difficult if not impossible.
We can not guarantee they will unoccupied and available for use by EuroBiCon participants.
To park at these spaces, you need both a European disabled person’s parking card and a (free) one-year Amsterdam parking card. If you need more information on this, please contact us.
– For more info on the accessibility of Amsterdam, check the Sage Traveling page on Amsterdam.
Mezrab
– The main entrance is accessible for wheelchairs.
More information will follow.
